Every feature flag platform, with the pricing they hide
We benchmarked flag evaluation latency at the edge, mapped SDK coverage across every language, and collected real quotes so you can compare true per-MAU cost. No sponsors. No ads.
Editor's picks
Best open source
Flagsmith
4.0BSD-3 licensed and genuinely self-hostable, from a bootstrapped team with the most transparent pricing in the category.
Best for experimentation
GrowthBook
4.0MIT-licensed and warehouse-native, with a real stats engine - Bayesian, sequential, CUPED and bandits.
Best flat pricing
ConfigCat
4.0No per-seat and no per-MAU billing - unusual in a category where those are the traps.

How we test
We install every tool the way a working team would and run it against realistic workloads, not toy demos. Each tool gets the same setup budget and the same test suite so the comparison is fair.
For each tool we measure detection rate (real issues caught), false positive rate (noise vs. signal), latency (time to first useful output), and accuracy (were the suggestions correct and applicable).
What to look for
- Depth - genuine understanding vs. shallow pattern matching
- False positive rate - signal vs. noise ratio
- Platform support - does it fit the stack you already run
- Configurability - can you enforce your team's standards
- Pricing - what it actually costs at your team size
Categories we cover
- Feature Flag Platforms - Dedicated flag management and rollout tooling.
- Experimentation & A/B - Statistical testing and metric analysis.
- Open Source - Self-hostable, source-available platforms.
- Product Analytics - Analytics suites with flags built in.
- Release Management - Progressive delivery and deployment control.
Our recommendation
There's no single best tool - it depends on team size, stack, and budget. Browse the guides for detailed recommendations by team type.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you test these platforms?
We integrate every platform into the same reference application, measure flag evaluation latency locally and at the edge, verify SDK coverage claims language by language, and model total cost at 10k, 50k and 250k MAU. Same app, same day, published methodology.
Where does your pricing data come from?
Most vendors in this category hide enterprise pricing behind a sales call. We combine published price sheets with real quotes shared by buyers, and we label every figure with its source and date so you can judge it yourself.
Are these comparisons sponsored?
No. No platform pays for placement or for a rating. Sponsored listings, where they exist, are clearly labelled as sponsored and never affect rankings or scores.
Should we just build feature flags ourselves?
For a single service with a handful of flags, often yes. The build-versus-buy line moves once you need targeting rules, audit logs, SDK coverage across several languages, and someone to own flag cleanup. We model that crossover with real numbers rather than asserting it.
